Cacti and Succulents from Seeds
The Wayback Machine has Marina’s advertisement for the first edition of her “Cacti & Succulents From Seeds” booklet above in a snapshot on May 18, 2000. Here’s what Marina said about the “New Publication”, and her ad for it follows below.
About the contents …
So many hobbyists have told me it would be very handy if all the basics for seed growing could be in one publication. So here it is — as you requested. Everything from pollinating flowers to germinating seeds, how to grow the seedlings on to maturity, solving problems, and even how to build a seed propagator if you want one. Included are new articles written by experts in the field of seed raising and by experienced hobbyists who enjoy growing their plants from seeds all year long. You will also find a selection of the very best articles (with new photos and graphics) from eleven years of THE AMATEURS’ DIGEST including early volumes which have been out of print for several years. There are instructions on how to build a seed propagator and one or two other small pieces of equipment, but if what you need is information on setting up a complete light system, please refer to our other booklet, Growing Under Lights.

UPDATE: The wonderful Chuck Staples, historian of the Cactus and Succulent Society of America, in volume 2 of his massive two-volume compendium, A Historical Record of Authors of Cactus & Succulent, says Marina updated the booklet above in 2009, at which point it had 50 pages. So, that’s three editions that are now known, from 2000, 2004 and 2009.
